Job Description

Due to the continued growth of our business, we are seeking to recruit an ambitious accountant to join our Capital Markets team. The successful candidate will work as part of a small team under the direction of our senior management team.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior staff to deliver accounting and related services to our capital markets’ clients, gaining experience with a diverse range of structures and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of capital markets and aviation leasing clients, acting as their main point of contact for accounting related services
  • Develop an understanding of clients’ activities through transaction research and document review in order to set up/maintain the general ledger for new and existing clients
  • Prepare annual financial statements and management accounts in accordance with Irish GAAP or IFRS
  • Schedule and coordinate the annual statutory audit of client companies to ensure all statutory and contractual obligations are met
  • Provide technical guidance on ad hoc accounting, reporting, and technical queries as they arise, such as going concern, impairment, ECL
  • Prepare periodic management accounts and other reporting deliverables as required
  • Prepare and file quarterly FVC/SPV returns with the Central Bank of Ireland
  • Prepare and file VAT returns, Corporation Tax returns and iXBRL tagged financials
  • Assist with banking administration and processing of payment instructions
  • Work with the wider accounting and corporate services team to deliver process improvements

Additional Information

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with a strong background in client service and financial reporting
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in an accounting firm or a financial services company
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge; with previous experience of preparing or auditing accounts of S110 SPVs, aircraft leasing or similar structures
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels
  • A professional attitude with the ability to use your own initiative
  • Resilient and able to work under pressure managing multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Quality focused and commercially minded with the ability to deliver excellent service
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications with strong IT skills.
